Forty Years in European Homes
In 1986, STRONG launched its consumer electronics business in Europe. Four decades later, our products sit behind televisions, under desks and above front doors in more than forty countries across the continent.
We are a European consumer electronics company, part of the Skyworth Digital Group, specialising in set top boxes and streaming devices, televisions and projectors, home networking, and home and business security. What we do has changed a great deal since 1986. Why we do it has not. We build technology that works reliably, installs simply and stays affordable, for everyone rather than only for early adopters.
This page looks back at those forty years, and at where we go next.
- More than 40 countries in Europe.
- More than 10,000 stores selling our products in Europe.
- 26 European retail partners and operators.
- More than 15 languages spoken natively by our support teams.
A Story That Began in the Nineteenth Century
1868. The birth of STRONG.
The STRONG name dates back more than 150 years. Across that long history, the brand has continually reinvented itself to match the way people live, and the technology available to them.
1986. Consumer electronics in Europe.
STRONG launched its European consumer electronics business, and found the market that would define it for decades to come: television reception.
The set top box years.
For most of our history, STRONG meant one thing to European households. We were the box that brought television into the living room. Satellite receivers first, then terrestrial and cable, then hybrid and IP models. It was unglamorous, essential equipment, and we became very good at it. Solid hardware, straightforward installation, a fair price. That reputation was built one household at a time, and it remains the foundation of everything the brand does today. STRONG is still one of the leading suppliers and distributors of set top boxes in Europe.

2015. Joining the Skyworth Digital Group.
STRONG became a member of Skyworth Digital, a global leader in set top boxes and connected home products.
Broadening the offer.
The living room stopped being the only connected room in the house, and STRONG followed. Televisions and projectors came first, then home networking with Wi-Fi, Mesh, powerline and mobile broadband, and then security, with cameras and NVRs for homes and businesses.
2026. Forty years on.
Three product worlds, more than forty countries in Europe, and the same starting question we have always asked. Does this actually work, for everyone, every day?
Skyworth: The Alliance That Accelerated STRONG
In 2015, STRONG joined the Skyworth Digital Group. Founded in 1988 and listed in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, Skyworth Digital is the largest manufacturer of television receivers in the world, and a major player in broadband equipment and connected home technology.
For a European brand with four decades of market knowledge, the fit was a direct one. Set top boxes were the common ground, and everything else followed from there.
What the alliance made possible
It gave STRONG access to industrial capacity and a research and development pipeline on a scale no independent European brand of our size could sustain alone. In practical terms that means Android TV and streaming platforms, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7, 4G and 5G, camera and NVR technology, all brought to market at the pace these categories demand and at prices our customers recognise as fair.
It also allowed STRONG to move beyond a single category. The Networks and Security ranges exist because the technology base of the group made them viable.

What stayed exactly where it was
Our operational European headquarters remain in Boulogne Billancourt, France. Our sales organisation is local and stays local, covering France and Benelux, DACH, Italy and Malta, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Scandinavia and the Baltics, Central and Eastern Europe, Iberia, Ukraine and Turkey.
Products are selected for European markets by European teams. Distribution runs through our own dedicated logistics network. After sales service is handled by our own call centres, in more than fifteen languages, by people who know the market they are answering to. Our home networking range carries a four year warranty, a commitment that only makes sense if you intend to be around to honour it.
Global industrial strength, European judgement, European service. That combination is what forty years of trust rests on, and it is not something we intend to trade away.
A Dense European Footprint
STRONG products are sold in more than 10,000 stores across over forty European countries, through 26 retail partners and operators, and the brand is present in more than 45 countries worldwide.
You will find us at Fnac, Carrefour, Boulanger and E.Leclerc in France, at MediaMarkt, Saturn, Conrad, Otto and Expert in Germany, at Unieuro, Mediaworld, Euronics and Trony in Italy, at MediaMarkt, El Corte Ingles, PcComponentes and Worten across Iberia, at Alza, Datart and Planeo in Central Europe, and on Amazon in every major market.

Three Product Worlds
STRONG Entertainment
Where we started, and where we still lead.
From the satellite receivers that made our name to the streaming devices of today, STRONG Entertainment covers every way a screen gets its content: Satellite, terrestrial, cable and IP receivers, LEAP streaming boxes and sticks, televisions, projectors, etc...
STRONG Networks
Coverage, performance and control across the whole home.
Connectivity became as essential as television, so we treated it the same way. Solid hardware, simple setup, sensible pricing. From Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 routers to Mesh systems, repeaters, powerline adapters, AIRHOME routers, AIRSPOT and HOPI mobile hotspot, switch .... every product in the home networking range is covered by a four year warranty.
STRONG Security
Peace of mind, for homes and for businesses.
Our newest range is built on the same principles as the oldest. Smart home cameras that are genuinely simple to install. Professional bullet and turret cameras, NVRs and complete security kits for offices and commercial premises. Mounts, cabling and accessories.

What Has Not Changed: Our Values
Forty years is long enough to prove which principles are real and which were only ever on a poster. These three have held.
Enhet
We put people at the centre of the business. We listen to our colleagues, our customers and our distributors, and we ask them what we are getting wrong. We earn respect by keeping our word. Relationships built on trust are the reason partners have stayed with us for decades.
Engasjement
The commitment of our colleagues is what distinguishes us, and it is reciprocal. We invest in their wellbeing and we value the people who work here. Every decision we take weighs the interests of our partners alongside those of our customers and our teams.
Ytelse
We measure ourselves by the satisfaction of our customers and our colleagues. That standard is what allows us to attract talent, offer fair prices, honour our commitments, and build products that still satisfy years after purchase.
The Next Forty Years
The connected home is still being invented. Screens are becoming displays for everything rather than televisions alone. Networks are carrying more devices than any household ever planned for. Artificial intelligence is moving from the cloud onto the hardware itself. Energy efficiency and product longevity have shifted from selling points to expectations.
Our answer to all of it is the same answer we gave in 1986. Technology is only good technology if it works on the first try, keeps working, and does not cost more than it should. That is what forty years has taught us, and it is what we intend to carry into the next forty.
Thank you for the forty years. Let us see what comes next.
