How do I insert the nano SIM card?
The SIM slot sits behind the rear cover. Switch the device off first.
1Remove the rear cover
Hold the device face down and gently lift the rear cover from the notch on the bottom edge. Release the wrist strap from its anchor point.
2Open the SIM holder
Slide the metal SIM holder towards the unlock symbol, then lift it open.
3Insert the nano SIM
Place the nano SIM card in the holder, gold contacts facing down and the cut corner matching the outline in the housing.
4Close the holder
Close the holder and slide it towards the lock symbol until it clicks, then refit the rear cover.
Warning: Use a genuine nano SIM card. An adapter or a trimmed card can jam in the slot and damage the reader. The SIM card is not included.
Can I use a SIM card from any operator, or an eSIM?
The device is unlocked and works with a nano SIM card from all major operators, in your country and abroad. It does not support eSIM.
The device asks for a PIN code. What do I enter?
Enter the PIN code of your SIM card, supplied by your operator. Open the Web UI (http://setup.strong): the PIN dialog appears automatically. Enter the code and click Unlock.
Warning: After three wrong entries, the SIM card is blocked and can only be unlocked with the PUK code of your operator.
Tips: To stop the PIN request at every start-up, go to Network > PIN Management and switch SIM Card Lock off.
The signal indicator stays off, or I have no Internet.
- Check that the SIM card is correctly inserted and that your plan includes mobile data.
- Enter the SIM PIN code if requested.
- In Network > Mobile Settings, check that Mobile Data is on and Airplane Mode is off.
- Keep Network Mode Selection on 5G SA+NSA/4G/3G.
- Check the APN (see below) and that the firmware is up to date (System > FOTA).
What is an APN and how do I set it?
The APN (Access Point Name) is the profile the device uses to reach the data network of your operator. It is normally detected automatically. To find the correct APN, check the website of your operator. To add one, go to Network > Mobile Settings and click Edit next to APN Settings. Click Add APN, enter the values of your operator, click Confirm, tick Default on the new profile and click Apply.
The mobile connection does not work with my APN.
- Check the APN name, the username and the password supplied by your operator.
- Check that your plan has no restriction on this APN, and that the APN is allowed when roaming if you are abroad.
- Check that your SIM card supports this APN.
- Check the Protocol (PDP type): some operators require IPv4, others IPv4v6.
Can I use the device abroad?
Yes. Roaming is enabled in Network > Mobile Settings > Data Roaming. Check the roaming conditions of your plan before travelling.
Warning: Roaming can generate additional costs, depending on your mobile plan.
Can I send and receive SMS?
Yes, in the SMS menu of the Web UI: click New to write a message, and use the filter to show the Inbox, Sent, Draft or Unread messages. The envelope LED lights up when an unread message is waiting. MMS are not supported.
