What is the difference between Wireless Extender mode and Wireless Access Point mode?
The REPEATERBE3600 supports two operating modes:
- Wireless Extender mode: the repeater connects to your router wirelessly. No cable is needed. The standard choice when there is no Ethernet socket in the target room.
- Wireless Access Point mode: the repeater connects to your router via the Gigabit Ethernet port. The backhaul is wired, so the extended network keeps the full speed of your connection. Choose this mode if a cable is already available in the room to be covered.
Tips: In Wireless Extender mode, the repeater shares the radio bandwidth between the link to the router and the link to your devices. This is normal for any wireless repeater. If maximum throughput matters and a cable is available, prefer Access Point mode.
